Tristen Tours with The Elected!

Hello Friends!

Fresh off a successful Bonnaroo debut, Tristen is hitting the road with The Elected in June and July ahead of her run for the Canadian border and the Ottawa Blues Fest July 17th. The tour kicks off in Atlanta June 21st. Check out the full list of dates below!

Tristen’s Bonnaroo debut was successful from the outset as she was named by Spin as one of the “Must Hear Artists” artists at the fest, and by American Songwriter as one of the “Top 10 Bands We’re Excited To See.” Living up to the hype, her sets were met with kind words like “mesmerizing” (Cincinnati City Beat), and “refreshing” (Mountain Express). On Saturday night Tristen had the unenviable task of going up against the re-united Buffalo Springfield. The atmosphere was actually quite memorable, and the competition was nothing Tristen couldn’t handle. “A freak thunderstorm came up,” wrote Jim Riddley of Nashville Scene, “and I didn’t really feel like getting struck by lightning while listening to Buffalo Springfield. Besides, who was that terrific singer who kept drawing people from the fringes of the Buffalo crowd to her nearby tent — well, blow me down! There was Nashville’s Tristen.”

Aside from playing, Tristen kept busy, speaking with fellow artist Nicole Atkins for Paste, and snapping Polaroid shots for Stereogum and The Impossible Project.

For even more Tristen, take a listen to her live in office performance at Rolling Stone

Tristen on NPR All Things Considered – Rolling Stone

We’re very happy to have seen a couple of amazing reviews run on Tristen’s new record Charlatans At The Garden Gate.  Last night March 2nd, NPR’s All Things Considered aired a glowing review.

“Nowadays, it’s hard to come up with a fresh take on the pop hook. Sure, there’s some scholarship involved, but listening to Tristen, you realize that not everything about a killer hook can be taught. Part of it comes under the heading of “pure inspiration.” This album has plenty of that.”

Rolling Stone meanwhile, is taken with the record as well.

“When Tristen Gaspadarek belts “show me how your daddy and your mama made you” on the twangy rocker “Heart And Hope To Die,” it takes a second for the come-on to register. Her addictive debut is full of such moments: catchy refrains with multiple meanings, ear-tugging melodies with hidden hooks. She flaunts a philosophy major’s palette amidst echoes of vintage rockabilly and girl group pop: Gods battle, queens bid their rule, girlfriends enable druggy lovers.”

Tristen In Stores Today!

Head on down to your local record store and there’s a good chance you will find Tristen’s album Charlatans At The Garden Gate available on the racks.  If not be sure to ask them to order it from their distributors.

You can also find the album at Insound.com and Amazon.com among many other online retailers that sell physical CDs.  Of course you can always pick up the Album and/or Tristen T-Shirts direct from us at the American Myth Store.

We’d like to thank the press for some of the nice things they’ve had to say about the album over the last few weeks.  See below!

“Tristen Gaspadarek has crafted a confident, poignant folk-pop debut that never wants for hooks, and manages to undercut its sing-songiness at every turn with unflinching lyrics and mature songwriting.” - The Onion AV Club

“Tristen comes from Nashville, TN and the Jenny Lewis school of modern, God-fearing country, but she caught up to her contemporaries and surpassed them in one fell swoop. As soon as the vocals kick in on the opener “Eager for Your Love,” it’s impossible not to listen to this record all the way through. Man this girl can sing.” -Bust

“With or without Tristen’s acute capacity to portray relationships and ideology gone wrong, Charlatans is a musical document billowing over with rich, vintage hues and irrepressible hooks, her reverence for the lions of pop music and confident sense of self all meted out in the same breath.”-Nashville Scene

“This week, with the release of her confident debut, Tristen reminds us just what it was we loved about her to begin with.”- Paste

Feb 1st has finally come!  Tristen’s album Charlatans At The Garden Gate is available digitally on iTunes, Amazon Digital, and other online retail outlets.  The Physical release in stores has been pushed back to February 15th due to a slight production delay and a nasty ice storm that hit the south-east the same weekend our albums were set to deliver to the distributors warehouse earlier this January.

Visit Tristen on iTunes or Amazon.com

Or visit the American Myth Store for the CD or LP if you can’t wait.
